Private investors can purchase ETFs from brokers. Their minimum charge is between £10 and £40 per trade, and no stamp duty is payable on purchase.
Prices are shown in the Managed Funds section in the Financial Times. The Financial Times shows ETFs that track the US market (e.g S &P 500 index), European shares (e.g. EuroSTX 50), the UK market (FTSE 100) and dozens of other markets, from Japanese shares to governmental bonds. ETFs pay dividends in line with the underlying constituent shares or other income such as interest on bonds, quarterly or semi- annually. This is reflected in the yield column.
